Geophysical Survey

Royal Castle Engineering uses Geophysical surveys to gather information about the subsurface of the earth. These surveys allow geologists to obtain data about the subsurface properties and features without drilling or excavation. Some of the most common geophysical survey techniques are:

Gravity survey: measures the Earth’s gravitational field to detect variations caused by subsurface features such as rock density or subsurface structures.

Magnetic survey: measures the Earth’s magnetic field to detect variations caused by subsurface magnetic minerals or structures.

Electromagnetic survey: uses electromagnetic waves to measure subsurface electrical conductivity and can be used to detect subsurface features and structures.

Seismic survey: measures the reflection and refraction of seismic waves generated by artificial sources such as explosions or air guns. The waves travel through the subsurface and bounce back to the surface where they are recorded.

Ground penetrating radar: uses radar signals to detect subsurface features and structures by measuring the reflection of radar waves.

Resistivity survey: measures the electrical resistivity of subsurface materials and can be used to detect subsurface features and structures.

Our Geophysical Engineering team is able to achieve the following:

  • SUPPLY OF VESSEL, EQUIPMENT & PERSONNEL  NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE
  • BATHYMETRIC SURVEY (Single Beam) I (Multi Beam)  GEOPHYSICS SIDE SCAN/ SUB-BOTTOM PROFILER
  • MAGNETOMETER
  • METOCEAN SURVEY  ROTARY CORE DRILLING  LABORATORY TESTING
  • FACTUAL GEOTECHNICAL REPORT
